Terms and Conditions
These conditions are based on the DTI Distance Selling Guide and apply to all online or telephone contracts for the sale of goods entered into by Fulham Brass & Ironmongery Limited (FB&I).
Please note that Distance Selling Regulations do NOT apply to business transactions that are carried out through the FB&I showroom or other Business-to-Business activity such as reselling. To view our 'Direct Showroom Sales - Terms and conditions of sale', please click here.
1.1 All our goods are sold with a 12 month warranty from date of invoice provided that they have only been subjected to “fair wear & tear” In the event of any malfunction or premature deterioration the item(s) should be returned safely at the owners cost to Fulham Brass & Ironmongery Limited, 905 Fulham Road, London SW6 5HU so that the manufacturer can be advised. Please see Clause 10 below regarding the Return of Goods procedures. The item(s) will be replaced free of charge, including the cost of dispatch, if still available; if not, an alternative or a full refund of the cost of the item, but not the cost of its return, will be made.
2. ACKNOWLEDGMENT OF ORDERS
2.1 All online orders will be acknowledged immediately by e-mail. Telephone orders will only be acknowledged verbally when being placed by the buyer. A text or e-mail acknowledgement will be sent at the request of the buyer
3.1 Normally goods will be dispatched within seven days of the Acknowledgment of Order. However, please allow up to 30 days for receipt of order. If there is a problem of supply that will affect delivery beyond 30 days, notification will be sent to the buyer before the expiry of 30 days to give the opportunity for cancellation or to choose other goods.
3.2 Items that have to be modified or specially manufactured to order may take longer to deliver. An estimated delivery date will be supplied with the FB&I quotation.
4.1 Our website shows items as being available from stock, this means they are usually readily available from our, or our suppliers, stock. If an item marked as “stock” is for some reason going to be delayed FB&I will notify the buyer. Prospective clients can find out the exact delivery situation by calling us on our Helpline - 0207 736 3157.
If an item ordered is not in stock we will advise immediately and give a delivery date within 72 hours. If the delivery time proves to be unacceptable the funds will refunded within 24 hours
5.1 Prices are those ruling at the date of order. Prices on our website are maintained daily but occasionally a few may escape our best attention. If an item is incorrectly priced, it will still be charged to the buyer at the price advertised.
6. COST OF DELIVERY
6.1 All orders worth over £150 including discounts (but excluding VAT) are delivered free of dispatch and packaging charges to all parts of the UK Mainland.
6.2 Dispatch costs for all items are clearly shown with the cost of the item in the “Checkout” area of the www.fulhambrassonline.com website.
6.3 Dispatch costs to areas outside the UK Mainland are subject to quotation. Enquiries should be made by telephoning +44 (0)20 7736 3157 at the time of ordering.
7. SUPPLY AND DESPATCH
7.1 Orders will be sent using our standard service to addresses within Mainland UK and will be dispatched by our own transport or designated carrier. We shall be responsible for the safe arrival and good condition of the goods bought. In the event of loss or damage of the goods, please see clause 9.
7.2 Consignments dispatched outside Mainland UK will be subject to carriage/post and packaging charges and no liability will be accepted by FB&I in cases of non-delivery, loss or damage in transit. FB&I does not provide, nor offer to provide insurance cover for losses in transit. Buyers can request a quotation for special delivery and insurance which will be offered on a quoted basis.
7.3 The cost of packing, delivery and insurance by special request or outside mainland UK will be provided on request.
8. CANCELLATION OF ORDER
8.1 The buyer has the right to cancel an order under the Distance Selling Regulations (Download DTI Distance Selling Guide). FB&I will accept the cancellation of an order providing:
8.1.1 the cancellation is received by e-mail or fax within seven (7) days of the Acknowledgment of Order. A phone call is NOT acceptable.
8.1.2 the cancellation is sent to FB&I by:

8.1.3 If the goods have already been dispatched when the cancellation is received, they must be returned safe, securely and in showroom condition within seven (7) days of receipt. If these conditions are met, the goods and the cost of return will be refunded in full.
8.1.4 The buyer has a statutory obligation to ensure the goods are returned in a saleable condition whilst in his/her possession and during transit. If the returned goods are received in a damaged condition, FB&I reserves the right to refuse their return or debit the cost of returning the goods to a saleable state.
8.2 We strongly advise our customers to return goods in a way that FB&I have to sign for receipt of the package and also retain their proof of dispatch for any goods they are returning.
9. GOODS LOST OR DAMAGED IN TRANSIT
9.1 Goods lost or damaged in transit using our standard service (see para 7.1) will be replaced as quickly as possible or the cost, including dispatch, refunded. However, time must be allowed to make the necessary order tracking.
9.2 If the returned goods are out of stock or no longer available, FB&I will inform the buyer by e-mail, fax or telephone on receipt of the damaged goods. A substitute item will be offered or a full refund of the cost of the original item(s) including its dispatch cost.
10. RETURN OF GOODS
10.1 Under Distance Selling Regulations, the buyer has the right to return any goods bought from FB&I and get a full refund of the price paid for the item and the cost of packing and dispatch provided :
10.1.2 The buyer informs FB&I in writing by fax or e-mail within 7 days of the date of the Acknowledgment of Order.
10.1.3 The goods must be returned in a saleable condition with the presentation packing (if applicable).
10.1.4 If an item is a special or has to be specially purchased and therefore cannot be returned for credit, FB&I will inform the buyer by text or e-mail and ask the buyer to confirm by fax or e-mail (NOT by telephone) that this condition is understood and that the buyer is still willing to go ahead with the purchase. If no reply is received within seven (7) days, the contract for the sale of the item(s) will deem to have been cancelled.
10.2 If the buyer has already examined the goods in the FB&I showroom and subsequently buys the same goods online even if they are made from a different material or have a different finish, the Distance Selling Regulations do NOT apply. However, FB&I do have a “6-day approval policy” whereby samples (1 per item) may be ordered and, if returned in good condition within 6 working days, a full refund will be given. The buyer is responsible for the cost of returning the goods and we advise using a service that offers “proof of delivery” as we cannot be held responsible for goods lost in transit. We cannot offer the “6-day approval policy” with any goods that have to be bought in specially and are not part of our standard stock. We will always make clear if goods are “special” and cannot be returned.
11.1 We only accept UK Sterling (GBP) for the prices quoted on this website. Overseas buyers must bear the cost of any currency conversion charges and fees.
The following terms apply for purchases directly through our showroom at Fulham Brass & Ironmongery Limited, 905 Fulham Road, London SW6 5HU.
1. All material on this Web Site is the property of Fulham Brass & Ironmongery Ltd. or the companies that are distributed by Fulham Brass & Ironmongery Ltd. in the UK.
2. We do not operate a “sale or return policy” but we do offer a 6-day “approval” policy whereby samples (1 per item) may be ordered and if returned to us in good condition within 6 working days a full refund will be given. The buyer is responsible for the cost of returning the goods and we advise using a service that offers “proof of delivery” as we cannot be held responsible for goods lost in transit. We cannot offer the 6-day “approval” policy with any goods that have to be bought in specially and are not part of our standard stock. We will always make clear if goods are “special” and cannot be returned.
3. Documents marked for download may be copied and printed by the user solely for the purpose of legitimate evaluation of those products and services. Any unauthorised use by third parties of all or part of the brand names, models, logos, photographs copyrights and other intellectual or industrial property rights used on this site, is liable to give rise to legal proceedings unless otherwise specified.
4. Fulham Brass & Ironmongery Ltd. reserve the right to make changes to this website and these terms at any time.
5. If you access any of the third party sites linked to this Web Site, you do this entirely at your own risk as linked sites are not under the control of Fulham Brass & Ironmongery Ltd.
7. These terms apply only to purchases made directly from our Fulham Road showroom and do NOT apply to purchases made through our website, www.Fulhambrassonline.com.
